Assistant Professor of Economics and Business

The Department of Economics and Business at Randolph College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor. The ability to teach principles of microeconomics, intermediate microeconomics, the economics senior capstone course and senior paper, and various micro-related electives is required. The electives are flexible and could include courses such as econometrics, environmental economics, sports economics, behavioral economics, experimental economics, among others.

The successful applicant must be committed to excellent undergraduate teaching in the liberal arts tradition. The position carries a 3-3 teaching load. The successful candidate would become a member of a small but growing department consisting of two economists and two business faculty. Date of employment is July 1, 2025; report date is in mid-August. Applicants with a PhD by September 1, 2025 will receive priority consideration.

Located in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Lynchburg, Virginia, Randolph College, founded in 1891 as Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, is a traditional small liberal arts college with a longstanding reputation for excellence in teaching and an appreciation for and commitment to diversity.
